Usually there is a section on the left that shows the fan speed. It's odd that speedfan doesn't see the fan. If the heatsink was disturbed it needs to be cleaned and the thermal paste replaced. When your friend replaced the fan did he perhaps unscrew the heatsink/heat pipe? If so that might explain the high temps or he might just have forgotten to clean the heatsink. Right click on the underlined "this" and select Copy Link Address.
